Making Art today is amazingly similar to making food. Both chefs’ and artists’ most basic required skills are good taste and good sense of balance. A few thin slices of abusive childhood covered by rich crumbs of irony for starter, a big healthy portion of aesthetics for main and a refreshing cold dessert of frozen political symbols sided by a double espresso; a perfect recipe for a successful feast of contemporary art.

What we’re trying to add to the contemporary art diet is love, kindness, pure beauty and sunshine. Examine happiness from all its aspects, even the most embarrassing ones, and push art towards a new post romantic era!
Our smile may not be as shiny and neat as a made up model on a toothpaste advert, we’re smiling at you as a freckled child that just lost his front milk teeth.

So smile back! Or we’ll bite your ear off!




Actual Movement is a freshly squeezed monthly event bringing you the most contemporary dialogs in alternative culture through live music and art.
The first event, Smile, Will take place @ Corbet Place ,(Old Truman Brewery, Brick Lane ) on Wednesday, 13 Dec 2006. The exhibition (video, installation, performance, photography…) is curated by a young Russian Israeli artist, Igor Guelman-Zak, while the music is hosted by L.O.A.F Recordings (Lo Alternative Frequencies) launching a debut EP “When the Clouds clear” by Charlie Alex March and a surprise musical act coming over from the land of the rising sun (its his first ever gig in the UK!).

When we say small we actually mean big, in the same way that the old sexist joke
argues that when women say no they actually mean yes. The differences are: we’re 
young, beautiful and quite often forced to accept no as an answer.

Imagine… one sunny day, lets say tomorrow, after some aliens invaded the holy land or maybe a weird biological bomb was dropped from Iraq, all Israel, men, women and children, wake up as usually, slowly walk towards the bathroom,
scrub their eyes, look in the mirror and find out  their blonde! Hysterically run to wake up their partner and find out they’re blonde as well, open the window and see that everyone on the street is blonde, the morning news reporter turned blonde and even the prime fucking minister is blonde!!!

operation red on white(read)

On saturday (11/02/06) I've done a small intervension on Rachel Whiteread's installation in the Tate Modern. I came with a photographer friend to the Tate around 6 pm armed with 4 kg of fresh beautiful tomatoes, which during the next 3 min were carefully spread all over Mrs Whiteread's installation, it took another 2 minutes till the Tate's security staff understood that something is wrong and started to look for the "terrorist" and clumsily collect the tomatoes. the whole fuss took place for about 15 min, when they finally understood it was me they told me to PLEASE stop putting tomatoes over the installation (10 min after I finished my stock) and that instead I should give them to starving people that really need them and that if I continue they would have to ASK me to leave. In a brief chat I had with myself after the small riot I simply explained my action, "Mrs Rachel is boring. she built a whole career out of one idea, not a bad idea but still one, single over chewed concept to her entire practice! I've decided to add some freshness into her work".
